The risk is lurking round the corner, waiting for the unsuspecting and untrained :)

For a start, someone mentioned green pads which are coarser than recommended for Amtico/Karndean.  Blue is the coarsest recommended, red probably the safest all-rounder.  Yes I have used black pads on Amtico before but only on a floor that's trashed already.

As mentioned earlier in the thread, if any tiles are not installed correctly and have lifted a little, you can make the problem a lot worse.

But those things are not super high risks to be honest.  Most of all, where you could "go wrong" is to make a complete arse of the job, leaving it looking awful and without a properly applied finish which will fail prematurely.

I do loads of this type of work and very often the customers have "had a go" themselves or got someone in who has bodged it.

If the prep work is no good, and if you don't apply the sealer to the floor with a certain degree of skill, the finished result will look absolute pants and not be durable or long lasting
