Stone Floor Damage
« on: October 15, 2011, 08:00:28 pm »
Bit of a problem.  One of my cleaners has used Cillit Bang to clean some plastic chairs.  Unfortunately they were standing on a natural stone floor and the Cilllit Bang appears to have quite badly marked quite a large area of floor.

I believe the acid in the Cillit Bang has reacted with the Calcium Carbonate eroding parts of it away.

Anyone come across this and have any solutions.  Could a stone floor restorer polish the floor and repair the damage or are we looking at a new floor?

Any help much appreciated

Easy stuff  first option I would try is a product called Aqua Mix Renue if this does not work then try Honing powder comes in different grits 60/100/220/320/400/500 if the etches aren't to deep this will take the etch marks out then maybe a bit of polishing powder to give it that semi-luster that it has.

But Note if the etches are to deep then you may have to grind and re-hone the surface.

On another not I see Amir that you are back with another NAME! looks very similar to a online shop that has nothing to do with you god if you was changing your name so often by de-poll it would cost you a fortune!

Sorry to hijack the thread, but could you email the details to ashley@floors2show.co.uk - just what's covered, and if there are any courses planned for the new year as yet?

Also, I didnt know company name registration stretched worldwide. meaning, if you buy a marblelife franchise from america, that doesnt mean you automatically are entitled to then business name ''marble life'' in the uk. if it was taken, and registered before you bought the franchise, then thats tough luck for you.

Amir

Whilst I have no personal axe to grind your position is now quite indefensible. Why have you signed into the forum using more than one User Name? And why have you used not one, but two trading names of another forum member?

Professionals come here for help, advice, friendly conversation and to impart their knowledge to others. Backstabbing and cheap point-scoring are not on the agenda and neither is masquerading behind different aliases - it's just sad and it makes everyone angry.

You bought a franchise. Well done to you. A franchise usually implies a 2 week course delivered by moneymasters who see only dollar signs when the phone rings. Please remember that many of the people you are speaking to have decades of experience in their craft. Distributing your dubious wisdom on here when responding to questions can be both dangerous and unhelpful.

This highlights the problem with this site.... everyone should have to disclose their details ... no real reason to keep details hidden

How about you verify who you are or perhaps you want to verify so you can perhaps say you are part of all for stone or tiling logistics or marble life and purchase or sell them something certainly wouldn't put it past you with the actions that you are taking.

Well said Scoop. The type of posting being made by allforstone/Patricia is ruining this section of the forum. This should be a place where genuine enquiries can be made and responded to. All these personal attacks on Kevin Martin from behind spoof names is spoiling things for all of us guys who are genuinely trying to develop our hard floor businesses.

I have spoken to many suppliers in the stone restoration industry and Kevin Martin has turned out to be a top bloke who is always willing to help and whose advice so far has proved to be spot on.

So please allforstone/patricia can you take your personal vendetta somewhere else and allow the rest of us to get on with things. Alternatively please could the moderator of this forum do the honours.

Thanks for the support!  Administrators & Moderators have now dealt with Patricia Johnson and Allforstone as we suspected they were both Amir Patwa.
