Title: Speckled deposits on glass
Post by: Jonny Swirljet on July 02, 2020, 04:54:02 pm
I was hoping one of you guys could offer me any advice please
The property is a very old house but well maintained consisting of "bronze casement window frames" the surrounding structure is of a lime mortar mix. The glass is about 8 years old.
The speckles wont come off with obvious wipes with damp cloth and up to now have been cleaned traditionally about twice a year. The speckles aren't evident on all the windows at the property.
Thanks for any help you have to offer

I used to do a detached house like this , stone all round the windows and they were a complete mess. I wfp them & trad them , I ended up using jif cream and trad them. Came up perfect , then slowly after a few months , the stone started leaking ? again. I don’t do the property anymore, what a nightmare it was

Sounds like a total nightmare if it's a large house it could be a day's work.

I would use a scouring pad soaked in vinegar to dissolve the lime stuff
But it will probably come back each time the wind and rain are in the wrong direction!
