Advice from the experts pls

I have £2500-3000 to spend on a new jet washer. Dont want to buy 2nd hand even though I know there is stuff around.

If you were in my position ( I only ever do residential and have no wish to enter commercial market ). Looking for 21lpm min.


Where would you purchase from (company), best on price and customer service ?


What model would you purchase for the work that I do.

Do you have the capacity to tow?

If you do I would buy a bowser & pressure washer set up. I know you don't want second hand but you wouldn't get one for £3000.00 new but you would get a very good one for your money.

Keep your van for your main activity and have the option of just coupling up and off you go.

I bought the Thor brand new, the H & M second hand and every machine before that was not new. There are some excellent machines for your budget.

I really don't see a need to buy new and I would always check the second hand market before I made a choice.

That a possibility and prob a good idea.

Just worried about a 2nd hand one breaking down,most of my customers live in £2-5m houses and dont want let them down or be unreliable.

 Where would you look ebay ?

Why? You will struggle to get it from a domestic tap...bad thing for your customers to be watching you doing nothing while a barrel fills. The 250 bar pump "nearly" makes up the difference to 200bar 21lpm pumps people use ...If you listen to this lot you will need 30lpm for washing grannies patio's!!  250 bar at 15lpm is more than enough for cleaning concrete.

Thanks for that advice, just everyone says you need to move from 15-21lpm to get better results

I bought a used machine. I clean multi million pound developments/commercial properties etc

Lee Blastaway, Mclean, BDCS, Kenny -  the list goes on. They all clean big jobs, both commercial and domestic with used machines. yeah you can get stung. I was stung on a yanmar engine i bought but you could get a lot of extras as chris says if you bought a used machine.

This what I have - proper machine, quiet, economical and reliable. They offer good back up and use what they sell. Lee has also been there and see what they do.

250 bar @ 15lpm  will work a whirl a way fine.

is 250 bar @15lpm powerfull enough in your opinion for this and future work bearing in mind I have no interest i commercial ?

Some good advice on this one from all.

I cleaned supermarkets for five years with Hilta Yanmars @ 15LPM & 200 bar.

That extra 50 bar will compensate for the flow and if you are sticking to domestic you shouldn't ever have a problem with a domestic tap keeping up with the machine.

I would say you will average 10 - 15LPM fill up on domestics, so you only want half a tank and you'll be lancing away like Ken Dodd & his stick.

Pressure washing is superb because you have something that looks sh*t and you clean it and it looks like new, there are some people that can't clean stuff very well and they don't get the same satisfaction. No names  ;D ;D ;D

I've cleaned a lot of store roofs and I still get excited when we do another one!!

I'm gonna call in on the 10th of June to see them. When we were there Carl, coincidently I got a call to quote a retail park 3 miles away, the guy couldn't believe it, drove over and priced it and booked it in. Couldn't have worked out any better.

Good machine

Nothing wrong with that. Petrol will cost about £15.00 to £18.00 per day if you have a full day. I can run on £10.00 per day of red diesel. Good machine and a bit of the budget left over to get a FSC & extending lance.

Damian at "Q washers" knows his stuff. He will fit you the 250 bar pump instead if you ask him.

Do Honda do a 13hp diesel machine?

Or would i be better looking at a Lombardini/Kubota? Just needing a small trolley sized washer to mount in the side door of the van but want to run a 21lpm pump from it.
