Polished porcelain tyle
« on: April 10, 2016, 05:22:16 pm »
Ive had the whole ground floor tiled in this lovely grey polished porcelain tyle , I've come to clean it today and am left scratching my head there must be some sort of something what could make this job easier and better , I've gone out today and bought a steam mop and that's not  great because by the time am half way though the pad is to wet so leaves streak marks 😤😤😤
is 2x mops the the answer one wet one dry there must be a better way

Good solution Guys for mopping high gloss porcelain tiles is to use microfiber little waffle weave floor cloths just damp with water in combination with a telescopic flat mop system and you will always end up with a nice smear free finish, even though little waffle weave microfiber were developed for cleaning glass and mirror surfaces without having to use any detergents they are also excellent for flat mopping any high gloss finished floor tiles and of course they are also excellent for flat mopping any high gloss finished wall tiles. Which brand of penetrating sealer was it sealed with?
Was it sealed before and after grouting?
Did the tiler remove every trace of transit wax prior to sealing?

They need deep cleaning, all transit wax removing and then sealing with a good quality penetrating sealer.  They will then be easy to maintain and keep clean

Hello Kevin I've tried that test we discussed with acetone and rinsed dryed with microfibre no change at all I can notice the tile remains with a hazy streaky look when I run my finger over it , it leaves it clean where my finger has been

Ok Kevin that has now worked with the extreame clean , I've mopped it with just water and there is very very minimal streaking in some places, but not all some there is no streaking , I have now how ever left some marks I would call them scratch like marks were my wand may have dragged  ::)roll ,nothing major  if looking closely you would notice the  scratch like marks , is there something I can use to really polish the floor up to its very best before I seal do you think what would you now recommend my best course of action now be
