Dull Lino.
« on: March 12, 2015, 05:37:16 pm »
I know little about cleaning having managed to avoid it for many years but I have now accepted that I should have a go and my first task is to sort out what I refer to as the "lino" that runs the length of the passage in our bungalow.  I know that its would be dangerous to polish it but is there an alternative way to give it a shine?

Why would it be dangerous to polish it?

I am guessing you are referring to normal off the shelf products, when infact their are products that are tested for anti slip properties , even with a shine.

I believe that polishing a floor can be dangerous having done so once in the past and suffered a bruised backside when I slipped up.  However, your mention of products that are safe and does give a shine heartens me so could you offer a suggestion of one.  Many thanks.

Products from Pioneer Eclipse, Chemspec & Dr.Schutz all conform to Uk/EU/US slip resistance requirements.

The notion that polished floors are more slippery is a false perception and a myth.  In fact if a floor is properly polished and all excess removed the slip Co Efficent is actually increased (Fact).

There is no such thing as a non slip floor or tile!!!!
