Thanks Kevin can you recommend a good starter setup on a budget under £1,000 or is that not enough?

In my opinion to start hard floor cleaning you need the following

Mono Rotary Machine 154-175 RPM (must have water tank)
Decent Wet Vac with good extraction
20-30 Litre Mop Bucket with wringer

The rest you can get as you go along.  Good wet vacs are between £125-400 depending on motors and capacity, bucket is around £30 and a Mono Rotary is between about  £250-350 for a second hand one with tank and a new one is around £1000-£1200 + VAT.  I am talking about good quality stuff here not crap

Kev i agree that most homes have some kind of run of the mill hard flooring but if you ask the lady of the house why you will usually be told because its easier to keep clean.

most housewives will clean their hard flooring  themselves, the exception being the houses with quality hard floors which are a separate market in their own right and not an easy one to break into .

I would love to do a hard floor course but knowing my lack of marketing skills i would be worried that my investment in my time and money would be wasted through my inability to generate the right kind of work.

You would be amazed how many people pay to have their run of the mill hard floors cleaned.  They usually have grout if they are tiled and grout always gets dirty whether it is on the floor or the walls.  Besides that the hardest part of Hardfloor cleaning is identifying what you have to clean.  You would be amazed how many people there out there who profess to be expert cleaners when in reality most can't tell the difference between Ceramic and Porcelain, Granite and Marble or even Why and how alkaline works.

Hi clarkey, when it comes to cleaning hard floors in the residential market its hard to comprehend the potential, most home owners will go to their local supermarket and purchase either a traditional cotton mop, strip mop, sponge mop, etc. these conventional type mops fit perfectly well into the CFU range of products and then they are used with harsh chemicals and this combination just leads to soil build up in grout lines and on tile surfaces, if you are interested in tapping into this huge market we have a complete starter kit for 150 euros, this starter kit contains the worlds most effective deep cleaning mop, professional quality grout cleaning brush, step back mopping system probably the most effective mopping system available anywhere on the market for maintaining any type of hard floor, 5 liter concentrate of the safest and most effective floor cleaning solution available, a selection of microcleaning mop pads for deep cleaning, waffle microfiber floor cloths the most effective cloths available for maintaining any hard floor, high quality trigger spray bottle, everything you need to deep clean and maintain all types of hard floors. we also offer free advice and training from having over 30 years experience in the cleaning industry, if you would like more information under no obligation you can email info@jskcleaning.ie      Kind regards  Tadgh
