We parted company because Russ cannot handle criticism, have a read of last nights 'contribution' for example...

Think of it this way...how many times do you see a waiter in a restaurant asking people..."How is your meal?"

Most of them say, "Oh, It is really nice"

then, outside the restaurant, they moan about the steak not being to their liking or the peas were frozen, or the wine was 'corked'

if we are honest, we all probably have done it.

Well, I changed some years ago, I complain when necessary and compliment also when necessary.

Sadly, SOME WAITERS don't like, or can't take criticism. If they could, they would learn from it.

I don't expect anyone on here to invite me for Christmas dinner, but from the people that have used my methods and products have all said what a difference they have made.

Still no reply. You are happy to spout a complete load of bollo@ks Russ but not capable of backing anything up. And you wonder why I am not a Tile Doctor anymore???
Why on earth there are still 40 of you paying money into this outrageous scheme is beyond me.

Merry Christmas to the 1000's of the more sensible lot out there.

Hi Rob,

I joined the Tile Doctor Network in 2011 after a recommendation from a friend who joined 3 years earlier and to be honest I wish I'd joined sooner!

The support from the team at Head Office is excellent as are the Tile Doctor product's, which I also use in my own business.

Like you I've been in the industry a long time and I have personally found Russ's training to be very good and also very thorough. I'm an experienced industry trainer myself and the hands on training I've received has given me a competitive edge, which has led to increased domestic business along with increased commercial floor care servicing National customers.

I'm not currently search engine optimised within the network but I am investing in the New Year. As both Russ and Bill have said its a logical step in moving your business forward, and as already stated by Russ its optional.

I do consider what we pay in annual training costs to be excellent value for money in exchange for a local website, which provides consistent sales leads. Its very similar to a franchise in principle but without the associated costs, and works very well at the same time making us competitive in a very specialised market.

Would I recommend Tile Doctor to colleagues or new starters...the answer is yes!

Regards

Steve

A good post steve
Good, I am happy for you that it works for you. It simply didn't for me.
I wonder if there are any others that would recommend the Tile Doctor course?
Like you, I have done a few. I personally felt that Crawshaws and Kevins are probably for the more advanced, I think, if you want to get started and not really go on to a more advanced stage, maybe the Tile Doctor is good enough.

I've lost count of the courses I've attended over the years and I see training as an investment, and would recommend to anyone coming into our industry to attend as many courses as possible! You learn, you grow its as simple as that.

OK here goes.

I started my business in 1990 mainly window and office cleaning, But like alot of us it progressed and more specialized cleaning was involved.
I've attended a few courses over the years from window cleaning to hard floor cleaning and if I learn something from it then it's worth it, some have been cheap and learnt alot and visa versa.
As far as tile and stone re-sealing goes this has only been asked of me over the past few years (I am Mainly Commercial) I have been cleaning tiled floors (or so I thought) so I got on the internet and Tile Doctor was the one that attracted me when I was looking to see how to clean and seal tiles (that tells you who is top of marketing) I phoned up and this guy on the phone went through the process of the problem I had (of course he was selling his product) but after a few phone calls with alot of help I got the job in a very prestige's house done.
I then researched Tile Doctor and there marketing, I put in, tile cleaning in google for my area and surrounding area's and have a guess where the links lead me.
I went on the beginners course and realized how wrong I've been cleaning tiled floors for years, I then went on the advanced course which is similar but more advanced with a few different aspects of cleaning, sealing and repairing.
I have signed up to the monthly fee of £65+vat for optimisation and have not looked back, I can say it has generated £1000's of pounds of business for me. I am now hooked by tiled floors and want to learn how to treat repairs in marble, granite which advanced in tile restoration, it will take more courses and loads of cash but, it all started with Tile Doctor courses and the leads I have got from them, don't get me wrong you do get a lead like,
Mr Smith (no phone number)
mrsmith@hotmail.com
Limestone floor needs cleaning.

So I send them an email and you get no reply note it as not interested on the system and move on.
The other thing is when your on a job and your stuck, you will have Russ's phone number so you can call for help, if your like me (a pain in the arse) I ask alot of questions some may be silly but that's how you learn, don't ask don't get.

All in all Tile Doctor works for me and I have no regrets and would recommend the course to anyone.

Everyone has to start somewhere.  A Course of any type is better than no course after all you are bound to learn something.  When people ask me what I consider the best sealer I tell them my opinion it may not suit all people but it is what we use as a company.  We advocate what we teach with both products and equipment.  All that said Any Sealer is better than no sealer that is why we sell Aqua Mix, Tiling Logistics Professional, Lantania, LTP and Klindex products so that people have a choice of products.  Similarly there are different training schools.  If one schools marketing is good then great.  Personally I don't charge for Leads and I don't we don't make people buy our products either.  However, having seen the amount of people who seem to find it good buying into Tile Doctor and Nu Life products I may consider changing the Marblelife Ltd Traing Strategy completely.  Good Luck with whatever course you choose!

I to have been on the tile doctor courses. I personally found them very hands on, and a great insight into stone and tile cleaning and restoration. Russ has always been on the end of a phone if i have since had questions, or needed a little bit of advice, even sending him pics of problems etc so we can best discuss them.

The jobs i have since completed, my customers are 100% happy. Be interesting to hear if the disgruntled chap refunded all his previous tile doctor customers if their products and methods don't work or are as bad as he suggests, i doubt it.

Everyone will have an opinion, or perhaps have a conflict, but there are ways and means to resolve things. Tile doctor does work so i think its a little unfair the amount of criticism, sour grapes perhaps.

Good luck with what ever course you choose, were all trying to earn a living at the end of the day.

You will note (if you look back) that on most of the Tile Doctor jobs I did, I used my own methods as I found their products did not work. The sealers seemed ok, but the remover products simply didn't.

And, no, I didn't refund the customers as my Diamond Brush and Silicone Carbide brushes work much better and so gave a better finish, so why would they receive a refund?? Very strange!!

Disgruntled Chap you say?? Not really, just don't like getting ripped off, thats all.

Sour grapes??? About what exactly??
