1. you know if the cust. is a richard head 30 seconds into the job .

2. you can clean suites useing any hand because there as good as each other

3) the customers ask how long it will take and you can say....

"I'll be finished in 43mins" and you will finish in exactly 43mins

4) customers keep commenting how neat/tidy and organised you are.

5) you don't get excited when they say they have a friend/relative who will probably use you.

(6) the customer says "I've vacuumed for you"
 but you still do it all again properly

(7) you spend as long pre-vacuuming as it takes to do the actual clean

(9) customer says "You must have seen some really bad carpets in your time"
but you can't bring yourself to say "Yes this is in the top ten"

You try really hard to persuade a potential customer that they would be better off putting said carpet in the garden and having a fire. 

You can hear it in your own voice as they blurt out, how fed up you are with telling customers how draft marks occur

When you don't wet yourself at the excitement that someone just released a new machine that's got 6 vacuum motors, a 1200psi mini V8 sounding pump and a quadruple heat exchanger system ...... 'cause you know you can do the same job with the kit you've had for years ;)

...The money I've wasted over the years in this game... :'(

You leave the franchise and realise that just like everyone said before, 'Why dont you go by yourself'.
You do and realise evreyone was right. You SHOULD have gone by yourself earlier.
And had more of that money to yourself and not them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When the customer rings for a quote, and you allready know if you have got the job or not just from there accent.

Iv even got into a habbit of letting them leave a message and only ringing back if i like the sound of there voice.

this happened yesterday ::)
wemt to clean a 3 pc very dirty, was greeted by the man of the house who has stopped working to look after 2 loverly kids, his wife earns a lot more than he did.
Any way cleaned the suite,just having a cuppa and a chat with the chap, when he asks, "can you cook" then it went all wrong!
i replied yes...........so ended up cooking the meal for him and wifey 2 kids!
The wife arrived just as i was going down the drive with my kit, he told her that i had cooked tea,

Today she calls me the suite looks fantastic, oh and dinner was loverly thank you!

i have been cleaning carpets far to long!!!
