I haven't used Gardiners control bar system but I have used reach-it's equivalent version and it does make life easier as it allows one to comfortable grip the smaller diameter control bars rather than the wider pole sections. Reach-it's version has a  pivoting handle which makes life easier to control it and is also less repetitive strain on the joints as the handle does the work for you to some degree. It would be good if Gardiners developed a version of their own similar to Reach-it's as it does make wfp easier and less repetitive straining on joints . Ideal sizes would be 25-40 poles .
