Should I send the following reply?
« on: May 20, 2016, 02:51:15 pm »
Dear Mr Palmer,

Many thanks for your reply. I have to say I wasn't expecting one, there was no need, no really.

Judging by your response I gather you are somewhat peeved by the fact that we, as a company are busy,  which is a regrettable attitude to adopt, considering the state of the economy, the country having just entered its fourth recession in 8 years.

I would however like to draw your attention to the following text on our contacts page on our website "We aim to respond to all e-mail messages within one working day, but if your query is urgent the quickest way to get in touch is always via the phone numbers below." Perhaps if your enquiry were urgent you might have taken on board that small note of caution and considered it before trying to imply we have been lacking in our response to yourself.

Perhaps I might suggest a visit to Specsavers, they being an appropriate institution by which we may be able to assess whether your inappropriate response was down to failing eyesight or stupidity. Or maybe your father simply installed the garden swing too close to the wall.

Kind regards.

M. Bateman - Oakley Window Cleaning.

In response to the following e-mail exchange.

lo I used to send stuff like this. Trouble is it ends up on google reviews ect ect. Not only that its still stressful even though its funny. I just delete them now or ignor it, lifes to short and there are plenty of customers who will think your great ect.
The best way to predict the future is to create it.

I love a funny joke as much as everybody else, but when you start insulting people who have approached your company to request a quotation, nothing good is going to come of it, if anything you leave the door open for bad to come out of it.  Reputation is everything, and even though you are well established and probably have enough work to not worry at all about new or prospecting customers, i find personally that it's best too either ignore quotation requests or simply give a no answer if your busy and move on and leave it.   You know what people are like these days, for all you know they could write a bad review about you or spread all sorts of rubbish.  I had it happen to me in another business i was in, so all jokes aside your still running a business at the end of the day, and you will always win every time, if you take the moral high ground and maintain professionalism and don't succumb to the temptation to wipe the floor with potential customers ignorant thoughtless comments :)

Just saying :)

Don't do it, don't lower yourself to his level.
After all you don't know the levels of stress HE may be under!
Probably mother has died, left him the property, he needs to get it cleaned up and sold quick so he can spunk the money on a month's tour of Thailand Titty bars. You just don't know  ::)roll
