For the mechanics
« on: August 07, 2014, 08:40:06 pm »
I have a Citroen Dispatch 07 onwards.
When I turn the steering wheel either left or right there is this horrible sound.
Best way I can describe it is its like that sound of coiled spring being stretched.
Any ideas whats wrong folks?

Could be leaking fluid and need a hose replacing. I had similar on mine (older version) but my mechanic was able to repair the hose. Citroen wanted around £150 to replace it.

There was a recall for a bracket on the steering

Might be worth a call to Peugeot

Or a dry track rod end. Pierce the rubber cover, pump some oil or spray lube into the joint. If the noise goes then change the joint.

If you put it on either full left or right lock and hold it there. Does it make the noise? if YES its air. If no it could be a few things. Track rod end, wish bone (lower suspension arm) shocker rubbers etc etc. I am a mechanic....was... lol

Does it make the sound when the van is stationary or do you mean when your driving and turn?
