i did a test patch of algoclear pro on this & nothing happened at all ?

I am not surprised!  I would have thought looking at it Miracle Heavy Duty Acidic Cleaner would do more good?  That said I would do a test area first as always

Myself I would try a test patch using an sh mix or gel on it first to see if it cleans off before doing down the acid wash route
I would have thought If it's just black organic growth then it should not really need an acid wash.

Either way best you don't let the two mix on the wall as combined can give off a toxic gas.

There is a stark difference between an "acid wash" as you put it and a Heavy Duty Cleaner incorporating a buffered Acid designed for that type of staining.  It will also take less than 2 minutes to do a test area

It's what I call a heavy duty acid cleaner in my book kev that is why it works the way it does.
So in effect it's an acid wash so don't beat about the bush and just say what it is  ;D

Well sadly your wrong!  Buffered acidic based cleaners work very differently from neat acids they are used  extensively for soot, carbon and rust deposit cleaning.  In a similar manner  the same way our buffered cleaners work differently to your Hypo or my water based stripper works differently to Nitromors or similar.  The list is endless and we have completed exhaustive tests and compared them all against each other and seen what chemicals can do and not do when applied correctly and used appropriately we are more than confident of what works where.
