Layout of van - pressure washing
« on: March 26, 2015, 03:25:06 pm »
Im trying to work out the best way to layout my van.
I have a LWB, normal roof, vivaro.
I have my PW, burner unit, reel, tank, but need to keep room for chems kept in the van, then barrels of chems as needed, along with water feed hose reel, FSC, etc.etc.etc.
Does anyone have a pic of theirs to get some idea of a clever layout?

I use my pressure washing equipment every day, so a trailer is not practical for me.
I need to keep everything in my van

I am looking at the trailer option, as I have similar van layout to you.    Do you have a water tank on the trailer ?

Samson , yes I have a 1000 ltr on it . Obviously don't travel with water in !

Richy , could you not get a caged or box trailer to put chems , hoses , lances ect in . Save space in the van

Rob , I'm surprised you haven't being buried alive.......when you open your back doors .  ;D

I should leave my drain van in a tip like that - it would add an hour on every job looking for gear

Richy,

Find a fabrication place near to you and get them to build you a skid/frame. Work out how you want your machine/burner/hose reel, and then get them to incorporate it onto one skid. Easily able to remove it then if you change vans, and you only have to bold the skid into your van, not bolt everything in separately. Also means you can get your hose reel above machine to save space. Just make sure you use rubber mounts between the skid/van floor, or between two parts of the skid for vibration.

My ideal set up would be a p/w setup like a drain jetter at the side door with tank behind it and reels on top then a wfp system next to it facing out the back doors, I'll get there one day.....

Have you any pics?
Did consider a trailer but decided it would be to much hassle and wouldn't fit in my garage

Ed,
I have a box trailer, but never use it. It's too much of a hassle to park for some jobs. I like to have everything in the van.
Also I can only tow 750kg unbraked.

Rob,
I have a gx390 now and Im just about to buy a big 30lpm boiler. My PW hose reel holds around 60+m.
I also need room for my gutter vac when needed(I dont carry it around with me all the time)

Matt,
Good idea about a fabrication place. I'll look into that.
