hi,the wife shares the window cleaning with me,amanda wants to know??do your wives/partners/daughters get strange looks?as its a "male" thing to window clean she sometimes feels uneasy(must admit the old guys eyes the other week as she bent over to wash the mop were a picture (cleavage and all) ;D ;D ;D)mrs scrim how do you go on?do custies look down on female w/c or would it be helpfull for buissiness for girls (not suggesting wet t-shirts or anything ;D ;D ;D)although we have found the lady of the house feels more"secure"with the wife around : ;)don't want to kill the old guy off by making  the wife wear a mini skirt :( jokeing aside how do you girls go on?

I wish my Mrs would clean a few windows with me,... but she has no interest at all!

She does the odd showhouse clean, and helps cleaning schools in the summer,... but never windows.  :'( :'(

Hi Guys, I am a lady window cleaner and  a regular on this site .....must admit i just read and get info. i have worked with my hubbie for 8 years , started of trad and then changed to wfp about 2 yrs ago.
i enjoy it in the summer-best job in the world
the winters arent as bad now but still not too keen.
it might not be glamourous but i get to meet interesting people and have made quite a few friends over the years, but best of all i work for myself and can have a day off when i want.

so its not just a mans job !!!!!!!

Not long after I began window cleaning (1976) one of our local Papers ran a 'Window Cleaner of the Year' Competition.

It was won by a Lady window cleaner!
We have a choice! We can do one or the other, the opposite, both, or neither depending on which way the wind is blowing.

My Mrs used to work with me, I brought her here from Indonesia just before Christmas 2003 and she worked with me from the start.
It was a hell of a shock to her system have lived near the equator all of her life, then working outside in a British winter. She spent a lot of the time sitting in the van with the engine and heater running.
My customers love her, she can melt the coldest heart with one sweet Asian smile.
When I finally managed to bring her two little girls here, she had to stop working.
My customers ask about her every day, a great little grafter and only 4ft 10 ins tall.

Only two weeks to go and I'll be on my way to Indonesia for a month. Roll on Bali.

Hiya, i'm a lady window cleaner, i have my own business, i work with another woman and i employ two guys and send them up the ladder to do the tops!! Joys of having your own business. I sometimes do the tops and have to climb over garages and extensions fences gates etc.

I frequently get remarks from male passers by etc ie-you can clean my windows anytime luv. The customers at first give it the Oooo a lady window cleaner, never seen that before.

Yes its cold in the winter just like it is for a man, wear the right clothes and you soon warm up, only problem i find is needing to go for a wee, have to use the customers loos or find a supermarket or somewhere so i have stopped taking up the offers of tea on the round. (and yes have found the odd bush to hide behind etc when really desperate as not all customers are in)

All in all, i like the job, it fits around my kids and i get to meet loads of people!

My Mrs came from Subang Java. Like most young Indonesians she had to go to Jakarta to find work.
I met her when I went to stay with my mate for a holiday, My Mrs was his girlfriends best mate.

There are a lot of Indonesian girls living within a 50 mile radius. I was at the Indouk gathering a fortnight ago. My Mrs has discovered Indonesian tele on Utube, and now watches all the Indo soaps on line.
Where are you located?
