the proof is this -

anyone I know who has used Purolite in the past but has also used other resins will not use purolite again.

our own findings indicate that dowex outperforms purolite completely, lasting roughly 3 times as long - I don't expect anyone to take this as scientific fact but we don't buy purolite anymore.

when nearly all the major suppliers supply purolite you have to look at why - simple, it just won't last that long so they gotta keep coming back.

There is no hearsay dave, why on earth would I with absolutely no financial interest in who buys what resin come on here & say anything other than what I know to be totally correct as I have used, tested & compared it. There is no comparison to DOWEX! Only you can proof it to yourself but IMO unless you put your DI's in the van then you ain't gonna see any benefit.

Alan Wilson is absolutely correct in his post. ;)

I trust Alex Gardiner, he is soon setting up a water station for local window cleaners so i think he is best placed to do some experiments.

I will have a word when he gets back.

I dont doubt you believe your views are right but to preach to others you need proof !!!

Yeah, we've had this one before- flow Vs volume. remember? :D

You blast water at mains pressure through any DI ESPECIALLY using purolite & it aint gonna last 2 minutes. purolite DO however make a resin that is designed to be used at a higher flow rate, but it aint MB400 that you buy.

Thats fine but some fill their tanks through di from tap, which is fine if the flow is gentle but not so good if not.

The resin is not exhausted, what is happening you still have good resin in your di vessel. Water runs through loads of channels in your di vessel hence when you give it a shake the tds drops as new channels have been created.

When you slow your water flow down then the resin has a better chance of absorbing the TDS. For example my TDS crept upto 002 and I slowed the flow rate down and it went back down to 000.

2500l on and it is still 000. In the past I would have chucked it out but now with the information I have I get more out of my resin.
