You will not find much difference with Tulsion and Dowex, but have never tested Dowex but have seen the specs.

Purolite is a lower spec so not as rigid as the above, have had many customers confirm this. Purlolite do have a resin in the same league but is not sold for window cleaning.

Sybron cannot comment but spec is nearly the same as Tulsion and Dowex.

Tulsion MB-115 is a nuclear grade resin, Purolite MB400 is not so hence higher spec.

Rohm is same spec as Purolite.

Biggest factor is resin is di vessel and flow rate.

My answer is keep trying until you find what suits your quality of water, don't stay with the same product. Keep trying as you could save double your costs.

most popular maybe not the best, or maybe this is just down to what people like. I have never heard a bad comment about dowex or the other, just bad ones about purolite.
Does not make me right it is just what I hear, hence why I use Dowex.

dowex is made for champions and good people.  thats why I use it

na really I have found it to be the best so far, I have tried Rohm&Haas, puroshy..lite, dowex and bayer.

not one of them comes close to the dowex, it stays at 000ppm for much longer, and when it does start to rise it doesn't rise as fast as the other resins.

these are only my findings and are not scientifically accurate nor do they constitute part of a program of research.

I have only ever used

Sybron ionac NB-60 a mixed bed of strong Acid 8% DVB
Type 1 Anion Gel Resin

How does this rank ?  :-\

I must admit I don't know anything about the different types  ???

Probably because suppliers like you only sell it because of the quick turnround of business it creates for you, repeat custom.

It's sold to unsuspecting mugs unfortunatley who don't know any better & rely on ( poor ) information from you & the likes who also sell it.

It's pants, many of us on here have proven it, it's a BIG, BIG, RIPP-OFF! ;)

Purolite             Dow                    Sybron            Thermax              Rohm & Haas                    ResinTech
NRW-37         MarathonMR3          NM60                MB-115                  IRN-150                         MBD-10

These are the equivelant resins which some are on the market for window cleaning, all the above are nuclear grade resins which are higher spec and therefore higher performance.

Purolite MB400 is a non nuclear grade resin, Purolite NRW-37 is a nuclear grade resin and higher spec than MB400. If NRW37 was sold on the market then yes it would be equivelant to the above, but would be the most expensive product on the market.

I am not indicating that everyone goes and stops buying Purlolite as the window cleaning market does need all these makes in the market due to world wide shortage of resin.

But all the product data speaks for itself, MB400 cannot be classed as equivelant to Dowex and Thermax as it is a lower spec.

Doug
All this data can be viewed on the Purolite website and Roskem website.

Why would you want nuclear grade, all you need is to get the tds down to an acceptable level to clean windows , ie 0 tds not lower.

just because it is nuclear grade does not mean it will last longer !!!

Dave,

Trust me it does, each product will have a spec which you can obtain from the manufacturer. From 100ppm you get xxxxx liters.

I will take Dowex spec, at 100ppm you will get 7000l. But you have to bear in mind that is in perfect conditions so with window cleaning you would get slightly less.

I have loads of customer ex Purolite brigade that now get through a bag every 3 months instead of the usual 1 month.

Tony, no offense, but you speak from a very limited view point and experience too make such brash and obnoxious statments. I can't see how your 'opinion' is the be all and end all? Far from it.

The proof is in the pudding foxman.
I SUGGEST THAT ANYONE CURRENTLY USING PUROLITE CHANGE TO DOWEX OR TULSION, THEN COME BACK & TELL US ALL WHO IS RIGHT & WHO IS WRONG! ( apart from dave morris who you have too much influence ).
I understand your concern, as if you supplied the correct resin you would take a serious drop in profit. However, i'm here with no financial interest, only to save fellow wfp'ers lots of money in resin.

So, if anyone would like to take up the challenge, i am more than willing to be shot down in a hail of 4 letter words for talking rubbish! I know it won't happen, what i say is true & not vested in financial gain. ;)

Anyone?

Tony
