Having spoken to the h/s rep for a national high st company I was informed that they are changing the way they operate w/c contracts,they are minimizing their list to maybe 4 /5 cleaners in the uk or one only
He informed me they have about 425 stores nationwide and are expanding to double in a few years time.

So a few of you will maybe see me in your area shortly

THERE IS A MEETING IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS TO MAKE THE DECISION WHICH WAY THEY ARE GOING, BUT THEY WONT BE USING SUB CONTRACTORS.

I told him to put my name down for the midlands,he then took my buiss card and told me he would be in touch after the decision had been made.

IF THE DECISION IS TO HAVE 4/5 UK CONTRACTORS ANYONE OF YOU INTERESTED

I WILL REPLY TO EMAILS ANOTHER TIME,im not making any promises at the moment till he comes back to me[A CUSTOMERS NEIGHBOUR SO I KNOW WHERE HE LIVES] THIS IS ONLY A T 1ST STAGE [the guy has to put in his 2 penneth worth] but because hes the h/s rep for the whole of ENGLAND of this company we talked about natiional companies [cleaning] and he replied they dont want subcontractors doing work for them,iie national companies
because in his experiience they flaunt hs issues by using semi skilled labour as skilled.
I suggested he split it up into 5 sections of England,because of water prod for water fed poles,to whiich he replied it wouldnt be all wfp,
AFTER ABOUT 1/2 HR CONSERVATION HE STARTED TO SEE THAT I WAS MORE THAN ABLE
EVEN HAD TO PUT MY SAFETY BOLLARDS OUT ON THE CUSTOMERS DRIVEWAY [CREEP] TO HANDLE THE MIDLANDS AND TOLD ME THE AREA WOULD BE NORTH OF SHEFFIELD TO NORTHAMPTON AND FROM THE EAST COAST TO BRUM WOW![WILL MY VAN STAND IT?

HE TOOK MMY DETAILS AND BUISS CARD,AND SAID HE WOULD BE IN CONTACT WHEN THE DECISION WAS MADE AT DIIRECTOR LEVEL,
SO WHEN HE DOES COME BACK ,I WILL BE ABLE TO SHOW HIM HES NOT THE ONLYONE
WHOS BEEN DOING HIS HOMEWORK
AND PUT HIM IN CONTACT OR TO HAVE CONTACT WITH OTHER WFP/WC IIN OTHER AREAS WHICH HE MAY BE ABLE TO USE.

If they do go for just one then they'll have to use one of the big nationals. I can only think of a few true nationals with their own window cleaners, OCS, Mitie and Antac.

Take it you wont be interested then, as far as i can see no-one has said sitting in a van 2-3hrs.

Gaza's seen an oppertunity and if it pays off those who want to get involved get a slice of the cake, it may come to nothing but if you dont try you dont get.

I like to think we are all here to help each other, personally ive recieved some good business advice from this site

So if it turns out to be 'crap' no-ones lost anything have they.

Nice one Gaz, might be a good idea to write to contracts manager rather than hs rep, organ grinder not the monkey also it will take a few days to price all the sites for quote and conract will prob only be for a year. Then you will have to start charging VAT bet youre existing customers wont like that, sounds like a job for the big boys to me ( Which hopefully youll become if you get job albeit greyer)

Been in contact with the company rep yesterday they are changing 4 stores over per week to the new logo/name,and there up to their eyeballs in work,could take a few weeks till they get around to sending me the preferred contractor docs but hes promised me he will chase it up on my behalf,but as well as of a few of you know working for thesee national companys they move at their own pace which iss normally slower than slow,in fact when paying bills their even slower.
I do some show houses for a national company and if you send in 4 invoices stapled together they only pay 2 then 2 x2 wks later ie invoice no 1,2,3,4, they pay invoice1 and 4 ? beats me why they do it that way?

JM123 : Sorry to tell you they have no plans as of yet to come to Ireland,they havent any stores in Scotland at the moment but will be expanding big style when they do
and I mean big style, I would love to tell you all which company it is so we could all buy shares in it,then retire on the insider information profit.

Thankyou for all of your replies all ave been noted,phone numbers,emails etc I even told two people who the company is, no Ive not bought any shares yet but if my finances take a rise I may[bl,,,y weather and 2 king pins to repair at £175 a side
