Removing an unknown sealer from a slate patio

Splash & dash:
As the title what’s the best way to remove a sealer from a natural slate patio no idea what the sealer is but it’s old , yellow and cracking up in places , also has some surfboard wax melted on it in a couple of places . I don’t have access to a rotary buffer . Thanks in advance.
