Upgrading RO unit.
« on: December 10, 2007, 04:34:11 pm »
I have a 300GPD Purefreedom RO, I was wondering if it's possible to add another 100GPD membrane, or something along those lines?

Also would it be possible in the future (if I ever want to) to keep the pre filters, but then get a 4040 Membrane, and hook em all up?

Thank you.

You mean why I didn't buy that one. Because it is £80 more. Just wondering for the future, if I can upgrade.

They`ll just sell you one of those white tampon looking things called an RO to bolt on to the existing unit, you should have got the 4oo one in the first place.

RO-Man dont recomend any more than 3 membranes so would prob have been better to go for 150gpd membranes ( these will I think fit in the existing housings)

How about upgrading to a 4040 Membrane with existing prefilters?

Yes you could do this no prob.

Just disconnect the out pipe from the prefilters and hook up to the 40 inch. You may need to change the in/out connectors on the prefilters to 1/2 inch hose ones. This should be very easy to do.

Ah that's good news, I might do that in the long run, I'll see how I'll fare with the 300GPD. Already got the inlet as 1/2" hose, outlet is very easy to do yea. :)

Thanks all.
