Yes you can, its called "De-Ionised Water" tesco sells it in 1 litre bottles for about 69p each.

If you use de-ionised water with GG3, would you expect to spend less time detailing than with traditional fairy liquid and normal tap water?

you would do better going to one of those water companys that supply drinking water for offices.  have a look in yellow pages.
