Powermatic Vs. Equinox

Why would a person buy a Powermatic over a Equinox?
Powermatic Equinox
250 Degrees 250 Degrees
Roots 45 Blower Series 4900 Blower
293 cfm at 10"hg 340 cfm at 10"hg
Cat pump 1500 psi Cat pump 1500 psi
25 HP Kohler 22 HP Kohler
105 gallon usable 70 gallon usable
waste tank waste tank
Dimensions: Dimensions:
38"W X 44"H X 66"L 25"W X 41"H X 40"L
980 pounds 540 pounds
Direct Drive Blower Belt Driven Blower
The Equinox is priced $1,200 less than the Powermatic.
The Equinox is a smaller machine, which translates to more room in the van for other equipment.
The Equinox is 440 pounds lighter than the Powermatic, better gas mileage.
The Equinox is belt driven and can achive up to 400 cfm of airflow. 340 cfm at 10" hg. The Powermatic is only 293 cfm at 10" hg.
Help me out here. Why would anyone buy a Powermatic over the Equinox?
Thanks for reading
Devin
PS The Equinox and the Powermatic are both Steam Way Kerosene Dragons.

Without knowing having any more info then you supplied. Like what does the Equinox use for heat?
I would answer your question with HISTORY. Dont think you can argue that the Powermatic has a great one.
Just my overtaxed two cents worth. To a certainly great question. Good luck on your quest.

Is the Equinox the same as the 9100? I demod the PM and fell in love with the performance. The 9100 was a smaller machine, but I did not see it perform.
There must be a reason the PM is higher in price, but it is the one I want.
Yaser
Looks liek we posted at the same time Devin. I see the waste tank, CFM and engine to be different, so maybe that's where the $1,200 is.

Yaser,
No, the Equinox is a Kerosene unit not a heat exchanger.
The Equinox is a Steam Way TM.

Devin,
Have you asked this question to Steamway? If so what have they said?
