Can anyone recommend a good timer for my 2kw immersion heater?

What do you mean by a good timer ?

I plug mine into a cheap one from asda that was probably a fiver.

A timer is a timer just buy any

Just wasn’t sure if there were different rated timers that was all.  Thanks though. I’ll have a look on amazon

If you're not using a 3KW immersion you can pretty much use any timer. That's why I dropped to a 2KW - I just go to bed and leave it on all night. (Usually about 400L in a 650 tank)
