Out working today . 2 guys out door knocking . They saw me working . Came up to me to have a word . Self employed plasterers . They have been knocking on a morning and cleaning em that afternoon. They did 15 last week and 13 so far this week . They were dressed decent enough and a nice van . Doing em trad .

As soon as there work start picking up you won’t see them.

Sounds like a sweet spot of an area. OP has missed an opportunity there.

Sounds like a sweet spot of an area. OP has missed an opportunity there.
wrong . Unlike most on here , I am not constantly advertising, door knocking , or leafleting . I have more than enough customers . Always had . I lose very little . Just last year I gave 200 houses to my son . Gratis , but if you want I can give you the area and you can knock the doors as well . It is swarmed with cleaners . But I never lose any of mine . 👍

Bring it on 😆, they’ll certainly sack it all off as soon as they can start plastering again that’s for sure!

Why would they sack it off? Window cleaning is a hell of a lot easier than plastering. I don’t know a single plasterer get to 40 that’s body isn’t completely knackered.

I missed the trad part tbh, but I stand by what I said, wfp and trad is still a lot less physical work than plastering.

And if you've got the balls to knock doors in the middle of a global pandemic you deserve the success.

You only have their word for it that have done that many, and if they are winning a lot fo very quickly that might mean they are too cheap, so they'll soon get fed up

Yes . They could have been lying about how many they had picked up . But I certainly wasnt worried . They even knocked a couple I had just done . I laughed . But they did seem decent lads ,not chavy. Agree with deegee . Any form of window cleaning is easier than plastering . I think that is just about the hardest of the trades . Like Gomo said , got some balls knocking at the moment .

If you're knocking doors touting for work (at this time) you deserve locking up. And in clear breach of the "allowed to go to work" request, touting isn't working.

It also goes to show that plasterers don’t all have rainy day money
