But i thought you needed internet access for it to work? Iv only read bits on here so im not 100% myself but i thought it couldn't be used properly on iphones? I will stand corrected though and sign up today if im wrong. Cheers chaps

Danny

i sync my i pod in the morning  then you can use it all day you dont need internet connection

Do you NEED to sync it everyday to get that days info or something? And if you didnt sync it everyday would you need to print off a worksheet for the day? Cheers

Danny

I only sync because approx 3 weeks of my work area there is no mobile reception.  I other week i can use it on my mobile

Hi Paul

You have to enable 'Auto plan next job' in your Settings (I think I might enable this by default as most people seem to use it).

Once enabled, a job will reschedule for next time when you mark it Done or Skipped.

If you have any other queries, feel free to contact me directly.

Chris, you have to do a video mate,   :) this way every one will understand how to work it. i have had your program for past 2 years now, and still dont understand some of it.  :)

OK some answers...

Dani J: Yep videos are definitely on my To Do list! They would be the best and quickest way to explain how the system works and how to get the most out of it.

gavinb: Let me know where you think customers have gone missing from and I'll try and explain. Rather than editing a job's next due date, its usually easier just to add it to the planner on the day you want to do it. Please contact me directly about any problems you have using the system.

Mobile App: The mobile app is available, but I haven't updated the web site yet. I wanted to get a few people using it on a variety of phones to check it worked properly before formally announcing it. The mobile app doesn't need an internet connection to work, provided you have downloaded to your data to your phone first. You can only currently see yesterday, today and tomorrow's work, so really need to sync every day. It is important to sync regularly as your data isn't very well protected if its only on your phone.

David@st-ives: Apart from the usual Cloud benefits (no software to install or update, access from any computer, data security, etc), Aworka has two main advantages over George:

1) Aworka works on more devices: PC, Mac, iPad and Android tablets, smartphones. George only works on PC and Palm.

2) Aworka is multi-user, where in a multi person business or franchise, operatives can update their own data wherever they are. In larger businesses, multiple admin staff can share a single account and work simultaneously.

The two systems are different, with some features in George not currently in Aworka and vice versa. For many, the choice may come down to price... if you don't need the features of Aworka, many are happy to pay the single £50 + £12 per year internet backup for George, rather than pay £10 per month for Aworka.

John: When auto planning is enabled in your Settings, an Auto plan checkbox also appears for each job, so you can control auto planning on a per job basis.

I hope I've covered everything!

The 'Time Off' feature is near the top of my list as i know it can be tedious to rearrange your work when you want to take a break. I can't give an exact timeframe, but I'm hope to add it within a few weeks. With Xmas fast approaching, where pretty much everyone takes time off, it would be good to get it done before then.

So if they are both missing features, can you not combine and make one good one, especially on the accounting side

There is no easy way to combine the two systems as they are built on entirely different technology, but I intend to continue developing Aworka to meet the needs of users for the foreseeable future.

Is there any plans to implement  exporting link to quickbooks ? As at the moment I can't see working my finances on aworka. can not find any reporting on incomes. apart from profit and loss.

Or any chance of an export to www.kashflow.com ? It's currently the best/easiest invoicing software we've come across.

Cheers,

Huw

Viktor why would need anything more than profit and loss , At a glance I can see what I have earned each week along with my projected income for the year based on my current income.  Mike

It was never my intention for Aworka to be a full blown accounts package with payroll, tax calculations, etc, so it would make sense for it to integrate with other services/packages that specialise in that side of things.

It's on my ever growing 'to do' list! Part of the problem will be deciding which systems to integrate with as each one will require a fair amount of effort. You have already mentioned two: QuickBooks (which I know is particularly popular in the US) and Kashflow, but there are many others, Sage, Clearbooks, Freshbooks, etc.
