If you clean a large coffee stain for example, the coffee would have gone right through to the backing and even the underlay. When you clean the carpet you might have cleaned out the stain that you can see and the client is happy :), pays you and you go home :). The moisture in the carpet dries to the surfice, so if there is still some coffee in the base then it will resurface on the top of the carpet :(, bringing the stain back >:(. This is called wicking. It dosent meen you havent cleaned the carpet properly, just some larger stains need two or even three visits to remove. these extra visit should be in the original price or done free of charge. If you explain this to you client then they dont mind paying that little bit moreand dont think it is down to poor cleaning.
