Begging springs to mind - they'll be calling you Oliver in the new year.

i phoned a big house job to comfirm xmas clean on xmas eve,  great she says,   ill be there around 9am.
got there no one in,
cleaned full house, as big as the tates house in emerdale,     phoned uo to arrange collection.
he says they are out most of the day, party at teatime,     he then says-   do you need it today,  £25.

instead of embarrasing him i says no im fine,      i did expect it that day  xmas eve.    thats the only reason i did it on xmas eve.
£50    next clean.      probably come in handy end of jan.

Begging? WTF? It's not begging. You've done the work, they should pay you for it, like now, no matter what day it is.

Begging? Try telling anyone else that's done work for you that you can't pay them just now they'll have to wait till after Christmas. How do you think that would go down?

Begging? If someone came to the door for payment for anything else on Christmas eve you wouldn't accuse them of begging, you'd probably be embarrassed for not organising payment sooner.

Begging?  ::)roll

True
I'm getting rid of a few bad/late payers , even if they are well paid jobs .

Too stressful and disrespectful some of them .

Annoys me the ones that drive off while your cleaning , you knock the following night or day and they answer and have no cash .

I do have some great payers , but need to bin the poor

I don't see it as begging, if they owe you money then it's fair enough imo.
I worked in the morning and then whizzed round a few customers that owed me at about 2pm. There's no way I'd mither people after dark on Christmas Eve though.
I just wanted to get my money in as I'm not going back to work till Jan 5th.

we worked and my mate worked. i had the best day ever collecting wise. worked up till it got dark. only 2 said owt and i just explained that a lot of my valuable custies on this round wanted them doing for christmas. That ended them moaning. It turned a bad  (short) week into an average one because we had collected most of the money the previous 2 days as people were off work.

My mate on other hand had a lousy reception and packed in by dinner. We did a round containing lots of retired folks and that was the difference. Rememmber doing it 4 years ago at -9 degrees, with half water and half alcohol trad. They just wanted them done for christmas and most were very house proud, they thought I was a hero for doing them on christmas eve and in such adverse conditions. I was no hero just had no money for food cause I had been laid off for 2 weeks due to big freeze.

I think you have to pick your teritory. If its raining I always leave that round till its dry
