SPRAY GLUE !
« on: March 07, 2009, 01:28:44 pm »
Any tips on how / what to use when removing spray on glue from a wool carpet ?

A carpet fitter accidently sprayed it on thinking it was a cleaning solvent and now is panicing...

Its about the size of a 50p piece and has set quite hard.

Tips on removing it would be greatly appreciated...thanks

Solvex from Prochem apply onto a towel and gentle massage in HWE and repeat, ventilate area, spray glue is latex like and usually comes off easiest off the glues.

PS check to see that it's not a bitch backing or rubber, foam, latex backing or deep doodah will happen.

All of the above but before applying solvex try using a drawing pin or like several times to penetrate the surface. Will make the job a lot easier.

You don't want liquagel unless you have a rinse machine ie vax or a lot bigger.
Most janitorial supplies will have a carpet cleaning range look for Prochem BUT these products are not for the faint hearted! don't apply neat to stain always apply by towel and pre test a piece of car[et sample and any foam, rubber, bitchamastic etc backing will melt.
