I usually.  Use a sticky roller on the wool that's come if the socks you know  the little speckle. Beads that come of the socks on the cream carpet      how are you getting the. Beads off the carpet  when the whole area is covered in them in all. Rooms

for me it would depend a bit on the exact type of carpet  ,   but generally if a carpet has gotten to that stage  .... giving it a bit of hell with a rotary and a medium brush ... or a red floor pad , does more good than harm . Sometimes a crb will do it also , sometimes not .
That will generally shift it  , but id you have a stubborn patch or the carpet is delicate it could come down to gently shaving the patch on your knees, with the like of a four inch craft knife blade or some other shaving solution.

i completly forgot that ... and it used to be my goto method

These thin ones worked best for me  ....as distinct from the wider ones with wooden handles

I find the best way of removing sock fibre is to use a hacksaw blade, hold it at either end and lightly brush it towards you. It’s an old carpet fitters trick to remove new carpet fluff.
