Just a quick thought guys, employment legislation can go horribly wrong if you make the slightest mistake. Contracts of employement are pretty standard, but please do not fall into the trap of assuming that just because you have issued one, that you are protected, you also need to be aware that the legislation changes frequently, so you need to check for new rules and regualations every three months or so.
A world of difference....

Thanks for that Robert.  Our's are solicitor checked and when new regulations come into force we naturally change our Particulars of Employment and make amendments to exsisting Particulars of Employment for our current staff.

Last I saw, I was in South Wales, sold my cleaning business last June & am now totally in catering.  New business is also catering related.

Ho hum.  Never mind.   Am a little bewildered because you have sent emails to essex, london, dorset, thetford and Swansea.   Cannot see how South Wales is an issue.

No problem Graham, will sort one out myself.  Cheers and all  :-\

I see your BS Filter is working fine again.

You DON'T KNOW what businesses I'm involved with, you don't know what I,m qualified in, in fact you know nothing about me, so please don't think just because one of the businesses I own is a  driving agency, that I can't give advise on this forum about cleaning issues.

At the end of the day it's up to me who I offer advice to and who I send examples of my forms to.

I take this forum very serious and help out others where I can. Not just through this forum, but by direct email contact with other members who are also serious about what they do.  That way none of us are slatted by boring individuals like yourself who have nothing better to do than take the P***

Are you aware, There is a place on the forum to post IDLE CHIT CHAT such as most of your posts, Non-Cleaning related topics.

You'll find I don't post in this section!

Hi Graham,

I didn’t mention what you were qualified in, I seem to remember that you were in the RCT once upon a time, I presume this is where the association with being a director of phoenix drivers ltd comes from, I just thought it was funny how you refused to give Lizzy help because she was too close to your business.

Lizzy,

Sorry mate, can't send you the document as you are too close to us and potential competition.

Regards

Graham

If you look at a map of the UK Graham you’ll see where I’m coming from.

A few Questions for you Graham:
Why would a similar contract of employment for a competitor’s staff damage your businesses (or empire) in anyway?

Why do you get so wound up when I try and shed some humour to the forum?

Why email this document all round the country, when the recipients could very well forward it to numerous people anyway? (even the south Wales region)

Thanks for your consideration BSF.

I am still a little concerned that my location in South Wales is viewed as a threat to someone in Cannock, especially when I am not in any way in competition to any window. carpet or cleaning business.  This concern has not yet been addresses but that is something I can do nothing about.

Thankfully, someone posted a link for another one, so I am now sorted.

BSFilter,
There you go again, so you think I was in the RCT, you could'nt be further from the truth.  Go to the doctors and get your memeroy tested!!

Your quite right, the people I've sent the document to can forward it on.  I've paid to have the document solicitor checked, although any employment legislation changes have to be incorporated as time goes by, so really it's only as good as the day it's sent out, it's a living document.

Lizzy,
The basis of the document was taken off the internet and adapted as time goes by, Lizzy if your not happy with the one you've got, email me and I'll see what I can do, bearing in mind it's only as good as the day it's published.

BSFilter,
Slatting people off is not my kind of humour, a straight answer from you then, why have you not entered all your profile details?  Why do you hide behind  anaminitity, do you really think people are going to take you seriously
by posting soo much B*** S***, as your profile name suggest you are a B*** S*** Filterer!!

I won't carry on with this tread anymore, it's getting boring now. I will concentrate on the serious members who are looking for some help.

Happy days

Dear Domestic Bliss,

I,m ex forces and moved in and out of a number of married persons quarters.

The March out standards are extremely high.  Carpets normally have to be cleaned, most people redecorate, kitchens and bathrooms have to be absolutly spotless, I've even known the person inspecting the property to wear white gloves!

They pay special attention to fridges & Cookers.  They have to be stripped down and everything has to be spotless.

In this case did the client expressly give you a spec for the cooker?  Personnally I would give him the £10 off the invouce for the cooker, but no way would I pay the other £37 for him to get in a professional oven cleaner.

Service personnel do get fined if the property is not up to standard, or there is damage exactly the same way as a tenent in a rented property.

I suppose lesson learnt, try and get a detailed spec next time.  The best people to clean forces service properties are Ex-forces wives, they would have done it mant times before.

regards

Graham

Ok Graham it might not have been the RCT but above you state you are ex forces, when I was in the forces they taught me how to read a map ;D

I’m not really bothered if people read my posts, I come on here to have a look through other posts and sometimes get good advice, other posts I take with a pinch of salt sit back and have a laugh.

If I want to respond in comical way to a post I will, this is a forum Graham and nothing else.

Life’s to short to be serious all of the time, if you and other people decide my posts aren’t humorous then that’s your choice, I’m not hiding from you or anyone, I choose not to advertise my humble business to all and sundry for my own reasons.

Regards

Oh but I do Graham, I know all about your businesses, because you have decided in your wisdom to advertise who you are, in my opinion it is you that is taking the p###,
other members might not realise it yet, I have unfortunately paid for this privilege :-[

My BSfilter is working great thank you it usually does ;D

It is up to you whom you offer advice, but its my choice who I expose to this forum (debate, discussion) that I think is amusing, at the moment its you! ;)

I have given lots of advice over the last two or three years on this forum maybe not always as this user name, but with various others, I have even posted insulting comments to this name :o

By the way Graham I have previously thanked you on this very post as one of my other names, but I will thank you again for the employment contract, its not my cup of tea though, my advice would be use another solicitor, because if you’ve paid for that you’ve been had, the link that Mr Browne posted is free and sufficient, well done Chris ;D

Firstly, I paid to have it solicitor checked, not for the actual document.

Secondly, nobody else has complained.

Thirdly, why did you want one?

Lastly, hey, my last post on this forum forever, because my empire awaits!!!!!!!

Hey,

Why do you let some members who quite openly admit on the forum that they use sudo names??

IMHO

It is fine to write humourus replies (everybody enjoys a laugh now and then) but that doesnt mean people can throw personal insults and degrading comments, especially when it is directed at how people run their own business.  We should all be giving each other a pat on the back because being self employed and creating your own 'empire' is a hard feat and takes ba*ls

I come on here for advice and guidance as I suppose the majority of you do and even when advised to do a search of previous threads I do not appreciate my time taken up sifting  through pages of insults and ongoing arguments.

I naively thought bullying and childish arguments would be left in the playground and not something experienced in adult life!

Cant we all be friends??  :D

BSF has posted to replies to me in the past and given me valuable advice but to admit that you have numerous sudo names and sometimes even reply to your own arguments makes me worry about your state of mental health.
I dont think this forum is a place for you.

I must have missed the bit about using a company name, then again you must have……. pes

Cinders I’d hardly call what I said to our Graham at phoenix was degrading, one minute he’s ex forces the next minute he isn’t.

I just pointed out this and that he couldn’t read a map, where’s the crime in that?

Also Cinders please don’t question my mental health, I’m fine.

Please remember this is a forum, a place to air views, a place to debate who is right and who is wrong, a place to win arguments.

If everybody agreed with each other life would be very dull.

Hi Folks, it's the pain again.

Please, when writing C of E's ensure that you make them Business/Trading name/Company Specific. Also, very important, that you are up to date with current legislation! Remember October 1st 2006 changes to Employment legislation. Very Very important changes were made, but some were not made that apparent.

Check DTI web site.

Also, any contract you write must be seen as equitable to both parties and must not contain prescriptive clauses.

If anybody is still in doubt, or would like to compare C of E's I have three which were written for 3 seperate companies. One Large, one medium and one small.  Email me and I will provide PDF copies. But if I do please ensure you change all personal and business details and take our copywrite off them.
