Cleaned a cream leather 2 seater settee today , I used ultra clean by furniture clinic as I have done for some time with excellent results, today though I really struggled to remove an old tea stain, anything I cold have done to remove this ?

If you use the specific process for dye transfer removal you will safely remove as much as possible without fear of damage to the finish. If this does not fully remove the dye transfer then stronger products will be required to remove as much as possible before restoring the colour and finish.
You can use a dye blocker to prevent any dyes leaching back through the new coatings.
Protection creams will not restore anything done by stronger products.
