Help with Insurance
« on: July 21, 2004, 08:43:37 pm »
It has come to that time of year again when the Public Liability needs renewing, I have been told that we are fine for general cleaning and carpet cleaning but the insurer has stopped the scheme for pressure washing, We were paying around £700 a year as a sole operator.

I have had a quote from Suttons specialist risks which runs out at £1575.00 which is a bit of a jump as you can see.

My broker has said that apart from who I was covered with and who I have recieved a quote from they are at a loss who they can contact, pity I dont have the money to set up my own insurance company eh!!!

I wonder if any of you good ladies and gentlemen out there could give me some idea of who you are covered with, as I need to be covered for general cleaning, carpet cleaning and pressure washing

many thanks

Julian

Hi Julian

Darwin Clayton or Camberford Law both specialise in the cleaning industry.  Darwin Clayton use a company called NIC and I am currently insured with them.

Sorry haven't got web address or phone number but I am sure you will find both with a search, worth a try.

Hi Julian,

I pay £800 a yr . This includes liability which covers builders cleans including the pressure washing of footpahs and driveways, carpet and general cleaning. It also covers my machinery which i use for the carpet cleaning side , 2 extraction machines and a buffer. It also includes my accident and sickness cover of £250-00 a week if i cant work due to accident or illness..
N.F.U. is the company , but i have been with them a few years so i dont know what they are like with new businesses.. Best of luck

Steve
