Good waterproof trousers
« on: September 11, 2013, 06:55:16 pm »
I have bought countless amounts of waterproof over the years but none that are anything special. I usually pay around £20 a pair.
What does everyone else have? What would you recommend?

I want something 100%water proof. Not just water resistant, or rain proof.

Maver Supercell Bib & brace - £100.00.

You will never have wet legs or upper body ever again. We have used these for years.

£100.00 and they last forever. They also look very professional and will last a lot longer than £20.00 waterproof trousers!!

Rob, I bought Maver Supercell Bib and Brace.

I used it today for the first time while cleaning floors all day, with wellies underneath them.
My legs were a little wet at the end of the day at the bottom and a little at the top of one leg.
And it wasn't sweat!

Do you get this or have I got a dodgy pair?

This may help with the wet patch at the top of your leg  ;)

buy yourself some army goretex trousers. I only wear goretex clothing as it keeps me dry and it is breathable. Well worth buying

Make sure you don't put them on back to front with all those sailors in Weymouth

After looking into it a bit more I have found out they are 5,000mm waterproof - which is suitable for rain, just not the intense amount of water from the spray of a pressure washer.

They are still better than the other ones I bought before.

I guess you don't clean floor all that much, but do higher level stuff so they may not take a beating.

They do look good though! ;)

I'm surprised you have found them to be a bit s*it

I have four pairs and we hammer them and do a great deal of low level, never got wet in them. If you don't tuck your trousers in your socks the bottoms drag and collect water.

I have worked in them p*ssing down with heavy rain and my T shirt was wet before my legs. They are lined so maybe a dodgy pair, I don't know.

Feel bad for recommending them now.

Nah, don't feel bad mate.
They are better then my older ones.

I used them yesterday and was a bit more careful with where the water was gong an they were ok.
These ones have a velcro fastening at the bottom of the legs which stop them from dragging.

My waterproofs have like material inside and nice and warm and cosy.  Got them from market.

The ones I give lads as uniform are Goretex ones which have little cuffs inside them to stop water getting up leg.
