i Know my uncle uses a variety of media's depending on the application he finds it really annoying when you are buying garnet olivine aluminium oxide or even crushed glass and there are local companies using kiln dried sand @ £40 a ton which is illegal.

A guy i know up here who has a dry ice set up. it never gets used. he needs to price high because of the cost of the media and when you can get the same job done cheaper with a wet blaster or a normal grit blaster he rarely gets the job. i guess if you pushed it and were able to absorb some of the cost to bring the price down it might be feasable.

You would be better to hire a compressor, because of the high work rate they need constant maintaining, and break down quite often !

Hi rob,

Its because of the silica in the sand causes Silicosis a lung disease caused by breathing in silica dust. there are some applications where it is aloud I think on fixed structures ie bridges buildings.
But it has to be used wet to suppress the dust .
