One thing that concerns me is when watching youtube videos, it's mentioned many times that it's good to buy local due to easily getting it fixed and parts. Is this really something I need to worry about? My carpet machine (airflex machines) has been back the manufacturer once in the 10 odd years I had it for a full service.

Yes that’s a good machine but they are heavy you will need a decent set of ramps to get it in and out of the van if working alone .
I deal with Rutland which is hundreds of miles away from me , never had to send anything back yet , just order spares and do most of the servicing myself.

It’s not a mater of anyone getting it wrong it’s what works best if you want to wash then hypo that’s fine , I have done it both ways for us hypo first is much quicker than after and rinsing again

They do use tyres more than diesels.

The low down torque is noticeable so I think it's down to the driver.

Yes. The heater knocks 30% off the range. Still 100 miles is more than enough.

The biggest issue we've had is depreciation.

Not really an issue for us because the mercs are rentals. When it came to renewal Merc finance tried to treble the rental - in an attempt to claw back the depreciation I guess.

Second hand evitos are cheap though...
