I've always used ordinairy fairy washing up liquid with a good splash of ammonia. It pongs a bit but at least punters know you've been ;) I got a liking for ammo when I first started window cleaning. For nearly five years, all I seemed to do was ammo swab, leather and scrim work at the then Smiths Industries in Cheltenham.

Jacob,
When you say you put GG4 liquid in your pure water for upstairs, you aren't actually saying you contanimate your actual water with it are you :o :o

I've dipped my brush in my bucket (I use  Unger liquid for my trad work) when I've been doing a really dirty first time clean, but actually putting Unger liquid or GG4 into your actual water is a big no no!

Any of the specialist liquids do take some getting used to, but their advantage, once you can get used to using it, is that it leaves far, far less residue behind on the glass than washing up liquid.

But whther you use GG3 or 4 or Unger liquid, or any of the other makes, they do take some getting used to, but each to his own.

I found that just adding a little more gg4 gave me more glide.  You still won't get the same slip as you get with "fairy", but it helps.  You can't go by the manufacturer's suggested mix... gotta find your own just-right amount.

Oh yeah, you still have to practice.  The difficulty gg4 presents is worth the results.  You WILL get used to it, and love it!

Hi all,

I use gg4 and have personally never had a problem with it, i think the biggest mistake people make is that they put far to much in.

It is extremely concentrated so you only need a couple of drops to a bucket to make it very affective, but because you only need a little you tend to think that cant do much and then put more in.

I also use squeegee off with gg4 so you have a little more suds, this is also very concentrated so you only need a few drops of this also, the combination off the two work very well.

1 ltr gg4 lasts me about 6 months and 5 ltrs of squeegee off lasts around a year and that's when doing the whole house know that if got wfp and only for the moment doing downstairs trad its going to last twice as long so the cost is nothing as together you can buy 1ltr gg4 and 5ltr squeegee off for around £22.00

Not totally knocking fairy as i used to use it myself at first but with a bit off experimenting i found personally this combination to work the best

kind regards

John.

i learned from the cleaning pros forum that putting a small amount of gg3/4 and i mean small with the pure water doesnt effect the tds reading and seems to let the water sheet instead of beading so i tried it and it seems to work
also it seems to clean the frames better
i am not saying that i will always use it but i have got between 400-500 customers and have been doing wfp for only 3 months i have called back and asked all the customers ( given it the personal touch ) whether they are happy with the new system and whether they are getting spots and now after 3 months they are all happy and no one has cancelled
i am not saying it is for everyone and if you put too much in then soap sud city

just the way i have been doing it

thanx

i some times put gg3 in with pure water a drop per 50l dosnt affect the pure water at all, gg3 is designed for soft water and gg4 is for hard water the only diff, so i been adviced by soap national . i found gg3 hard work applicating .now i use 70 %gg3 with 30%washing up liquid works well gives slide and dosnt leave to sticky but that is mainly for insides super markets and reseraunts where gg3 couldnt hack it on the finger prints and the applicator dryed up to quickly , if it was external i would prob reduce 5 even more they work well on first cleans ,

Many have hard water. Whatever soap you use try a teaspoon of sainsburys water softner powder in your bucket- I think its safer than cloudy ammonia and it does slide great.
If you want to experiment further try Sorbo "Glide" or many in the states use a bit of shaving foam which also makes slip and the water smell nice.

I start wfp tommorw.

I will still be doing some houses traditional. Do I add fairy in my bucket with pure water? Or just stick to normal water and fairy for traditional?

Is their any benifits for useing pure water in a bucket with Fairy on your applicator?
