wide warning tape
« on: August 21, 2006, 12:24:05 am »
guys looking for wide warning tape for the back of vehicles

sick of bad drivers running into, it happened twice in the last few months, looking for the 6 inch wide stuff like on the back of police cars etc

Its a funny thing but when people see warning tape on the back of vehicles they keep that little extra distance

so if anyone can help it would be highly appreciated

Its only the 2" stuff from screw fix but they also do it in red and white, just build up to the size you want.
I use there red and white tape on my ladder and it is very visable.

jeff funny how minds think alike I aso have red and white up the side of the ladders and I date the maintenance on the side with a permanent marker

change the feet and tape every 3 months and screws are changed once a year
surprises you the extra life you get out of a ladder if you maintain it well

I was thinking of using the 2 inch red and white but when you use several strips the lines are offset some times thought  i could get 4 inch or 6 inch and do it in one go

maybe i am just being penickty

thanks anyway guys for looking

I will pop into screwfix tomorrow and check there new catalouge to see if they do any wider, or you can check out for safty signs the type you put onto the back of lorry's I think your after.

Your dead right on ladder maintainance, but before I go out and buy new rubber feet, I use the other three sets on the ladder first, there all the same size and I have all mine bolted in, I check all bolts and conditions on a regular basis and can average an extra year or two out of a set, Its not being mean with money, but with the regular maintainance they do last longer.

jeff I get my ladders from the clow group and as a regular the lad throws some in

but to buy you can buy them in bulk for next to nothing

we use class 2  ladders for regular stuff nice and light and legal

stopped ladder work above 18 ft just use the poles now

by the way lads the clow group manufacture fibre  glass poles but have not went into the wfp market, if they come into wfp i recon suppliers could pack uip on selling poles, but then they need to turnover thousands of them as they are a big company

but here is an eg of something they sell --- we used to buy plastic kettles from b and q for exterior decorating
and cost £1.98 each the clow group do them for 42 pence plus vat

what a difference (a)
