this is what a customer said to me today!

childrens home(1 of 4 i did today).i priced the building up at £45(an hours work for the first clean,30 mins for maintenance clean).i told her i wouldnt charge extra for getting the windows up to scratch and it would be £45 every 2 months every time.

then she said could i clean one side of some low level guttering(no soffits)so i said yes for an extra £25.she said "are you sure?"I SAID YES!!

first clean took me an hour,guttering 20 mins!so i made £70 for 80 mins work.im happy with that but im sure she was expecting me to say more!

the other childrens homes were priced at £45,£35,£20.

first clean on the other £45 one took me an hour(30 mins on maintenance cleans)

first clean on £35 one took me 45 mins(25 mins on maintenance cleans)

and the £20 one took 45 mins(20 mins on maintenance cleans)as they were really filthy.

i didnt want to take the pee and im thinking i will earn good money on these jobs on maintenance cleans but she thought i was cheap!!

wfp doesnt half speed things up on larger stand alones!

so in future it will be around £145 for 2 and a half hours work including driving to and from the jobs!all invoices paid at the same time when completed by BACS transfer.

im happy!!

scrimble im simply saying that this woman thought i was cheap!

they are commercial jobs so i try and price fair for both me and the customer.

as for 5 bedroom houses and a range rover.yes i have a few customers like this on my round!!a nice little flat and a car AND a van does me fine!

ill never be a millionaire money wise cleaning windows as a sole trader but i do ok compared to lots of people!

pete if it was a genuine question and not tongue in cheek well i use a standard medium mixed supalite for dirty first cleans and medium mixed extreme for maintenance cleans.

and by the way the 2.5 v6 cougar is 10 times better than a ford probe!!it has the mondeo st24 engine in it!!a bit thirsty on juice but fun to drive!esp when ive been trundling along in a kangoo with 400L in the back all day!!
