« on: January 16, 2010, 11:41:38 am »
going to do a range of videos for my website this is my first one, first take, no editing, exactly as it was shot.

camera cost me £220 took me 5 minutes to learn how to film and then download onto computer, then 10 mins to load onto Youtube

just thought I'd show you it

Jon glad you like it :)

the reason for me posting it is too show how easy it is to do. I literally bought the camera last night had it out of the box charged it up and within 10minutes I was making a film that could be used on a website and it does'nt look too bad, a bit more practice I could do some really impressive videos

Hi Mike,
just saw the video and thought you came across very well and professional. Certainly more effective with video than a web page full of text.

Hi Mike, who was operating the camera as it was panned and zoomed during the filming.

Mike in my opinion I think you talking on your video is far better and sounds a lot more genuine than the voice over on the pro one a few of these on your web site would be great.

Handyal I dragged my wife  away from SoccerAM to do the filming, I just told her to keep on me then zoom into the colour loss then zoom out again. it does go a bit fussy, I think she zoomed in too fast but this was just a learning video next time it will be better eg...I should have had the room better lit

I like it and I think the 'homely' approach may work in your favour, did you listen to the Alltec webinar?

Hi Shaun, I got an email from Alltec about Piere de wet (sp) doing a wedinar but didn't register,  as soon as someone mentions earning £19k a month I stop reading.

did you listen to it?

Yes it was quite good, based realistically about web marketing and pay per click. I'll give you a call one evening and brief you if you like it would fit in with your youtube.

BTW I have done £19 k in a month several times (but I'm not selling marketing)

Mike, that's really good and I would say appeals more to a potential customer than an 'All singing/dancing professional film footage.' It's realist and it's honest.
How easy is it to upload film footage onto youtube as it's something I've never tried before.

neil,

open an account.... click onto 'my account'..... then click  'UPLOAD'...... it then allow you to browse your documents, chose the file and click it. it ask you to give the video a title and a brief description

it nearly the same as loading a photo onto this site

Mike, will the video make it to 1st page google, when a local search is done,
or does that require extra seo work.

Hi Mike

I like it too, might buy one myself.
Does it have a tape or a disc, I already have one with a tape but it's a few years old now.

Cheers

Doug,
The Sony DCR-SR37 is a light and compact camcorder with long record time of 45 hours stored onto the 60GB built-in hard drive

any camcorder that allows you too download the video onto your computer would be compatible with  Youtube ( i think)

Good video but never record where there is backlight behind the object you are capturing. I found it very difficult to see the detailing of the sofa. There is software available where you can lighten it up a bit so that you can see what you have done more clearly. John

Good video mike

I agree with skywalker, the camera is automatically compensating for the backlight in the shot.

Maybe invest in some lighting, a small floodlight on a tripod standing behind the camera would make the world of difference, machinemart do some http:   //www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/product/details/chl500td-halogen-floodlight-500w230v at £25 with tripod.

Invest in a cheap mattress and hire a ladyboy and you could have yourself a second income.  ;D
