Title: Insurance
Post by: RPCCS on May 08, 2018, 11:03:56 pm
I  contacted my public liability insurer today, to ask about the addirion of carpet cleaning  to the policy, once I am ready to start. They replied with the following endorsements. I specifically asked for product cover to be included, but this is what they came back with. To me this says that Ia m not covered for any damge caused by the cleaning process.

You need treatment risk. Go back to them or change insurers.

They have re quoted me on a carpet cleaning only policy with  product cover, for £480, John.
However after speaking tomsome on clean trader, they advised me to try Hiscox, most of the replies came back at between  £2/300: . So will give them a try

Make sure you are covered for "treatment risks" which is carpets/ upholstery that you are actually working on. I have been quoted cheap prices and promised that I am covered only to get the policy document and find that I am not. Dont take their word for it, check its covered on the policy document. If the policy is £2-£300 I doubt you will be as mine was £650 + from Hiscox

The proof of the pudding with any insurance company is when they have to pay out
