I grew up in Bolton on Dearne so I know the area.
From being in a similar position to you, though there was no redundancy, I have been emailed today reference a substantial project. Quite possibly the biggest job I have ever seen. No one else will be pricing it and I am being asked what it will take and how long, next week.
I would see your circumstances as an opportunity to develop my business.
It is all down to perspective and outlook!
Rob
Yes I do enjoy the window cleaning.
I see it as an opportunity to develop something of my own.
To think for myself if you like.
My current employment although decent money, is a sea of negativity
The last time I took redundancy I took my wife and I off around the world for a year we ended up in Australia and stayed there for 4 years.
In that time I went from labouring for a landscape gardener (great job doing gardens on Sydney harbour in the sunshine) to working in facilities being national tenancy coordinator covering around 50 shopping centres nationwide.
The Australians are a very positive lot who believe you can achieve, which is something I brought home with me
I think this could work but as with any new project due diligence is required hence the need for advice
