I can't tell you the best place to buy from as I don't know where you are based.
But rule of thumb, 1kg per sq mt will get you close, and this is how you should have priced the job once you know what your local BM is charging for KDS. Is it 200x100 pavers or Tegula, or drive-sett pavers? Different pavers = different sand amounts.

It is block paving, laid out in a pattern that look like red bricks, in lines that are zig zag.

I just want to get experience in using using the machine to start with, so as long as the first few customers are 100% happy, then I can stand the loss  ;D

1 to 2 bags depending on block type, gap width, problem areas.

Sand about £2.50 a bag so always take too much. Way better tan too little and you'll use it next job anyway.

im still learning this trade  ;D ... got about 15 block drives under my belt and what I find can effect amount of sand is how many times the cowboys have cleaned it before you and have never bothered to resand - plus if they have done it with the karcher a lot more sand will have been lost so now just take to much with me.

Only a few quid a bag so if you have a garage or somewhere dry to store just buy 20 bags a time this also means you can have the same shade of red or yellow - unlike me who had a job that needed 4 bags and only had 3 yellow and 1 red as everywhere local was either shut or sold out so just mixed them together  :o

Where is it for sale at that price mate? Would be interesting to know what people are for kiln dried as I'm currently paying 3.30 plus vat for hansons which I think is the best sand in have come across. With Bathgate being second

How much sand do you think for around 2000m2 of slabs. Each slab is around 1ft x 1ft with the odd bit of smaller slabs in between every so often.
Thanks

KDS not really suitable for between slabs. What's in the joints now? Usually need pointing up or you can get a brush in (Cementone or similar). For 2000 square metre though this will cost a fortune so best mix your own, or pass on to a groundworking firm and take a commision.

A sensible option is that you clean then the repoint.
