Title: Vinyl floor staining.
Post by: Richard Meads on September 17, 2020, 07:28:30 am
I don't clean hard floors but I'm cleaning carpets for a customer who has just moved house. They have these black marks in one of the bathrooms, it's a vinyl floor. Is this something that would come out or should they just cover it until they redo the bathroom? Thanks.(http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/1600324057_20200825_102550.jpg)

Did they have a rubber backed mat in front of the toilet?

It was like that when they moved in so they don't know, but it looks like it to me.

Looks like an old Amtico floor tile. If there was a rubber mat there then the staining is permanent. You could try test cleaning with polish stripper and a green pad but I don't think that stains going to go.
