I've just bought another pair of Skytec Argon Xtra gloves. They start to whiff after a bit though.

Snap, seen an angler on YouTube yesterday wearing a pair whilst fishing in York so got a pair to try today. Could do with XL but loosened up after 3 houses. See how tough they are but £4.99 not bad if last 2 weeks over winter.

The KF340 ones are rubbish, lining pulls out of them in no time,

Skytec Argon best ones ive tried, they do get wet after a while but warm and lining stays put unless
you put them in the washing machine.

Just bought the last pair of Screwfix orange ones in my local store. Toolstation sell the equivalent opposite their shop but a bit more money.

Thought id give these ago, bit more expensive but claim to be 100% waterproof and available in xl (10). let you know how i get on with them.

Another vote for Skytec argon extra, the lining is way better than the regular ones . 
Im eyeing up a boot and glove dryer rack at the moment . Could be a game changer

I found the opposite. I wanted to like the extra but found the lining inferior to the regular.

You might want to try a bigger size. I was having this problem whatever gloves I tried until I found some bigger ones. They were reducing the circulation in my finger tips.

The Xtra has a fleece lining. What lining is in the regular glove?

I don’t think it helps with having our hands raised up whilst working either - iv spent a lot of money on gloves and still can’t find a pair that keeps my fingers warm. I’m gonna buy some over mittens and see if they help

Managed half a house in my new site gloves and same thing excruciating pain. Had to go to van and put nitriles on underneath and hey presto must've trapped heat better so toasty fingers and site gloves worked ok.

Like most here - ive had loads of gloves - Seal Skinz - thermal - you name it

Every pair gave me cold and frozen fingers. what I did discover was that if my fingers got cold ie - first job of the day without gloves
then warmed them up on the vans heater they then seemed to stay warm for an hour of so at a time

Yep, this is the primary reason, hands above head means less blood flow.

Also, we tend to keep our hands quite still when holding the pole, so our fingers don’t actually move much.

Still, it’s better than the trad days!

Skytec argon just bought 3 pairs water proof and warm. I rotate them let them dry out at room temperature indoors.  They start to smell when used a lot 3 pairs will last through the winter with no problems.  Just under £15.00 for all 3 pairs
