Dead locks or slam locks are fine for delivery drivers but we couldn't use a door that automatically locked when you closed it. The parcel delivery companies, pharmacutical companies, etc., used to specify them on new vans, but I never had a tradesman asking for them when I was in van sales.

The van my son has had them fitted, and there was a notice on the back doors warning the driver not to close the doors without the keys on his person. All of that was removed.

We lock the van's front doors on the remote with the back doors open. The side doors locks as well. After locking we close the back doors. The back doors remain unlocked with all the other s locked.  With 2 of us working off the van either us can open the back doors as they are unlocked.

I only put the dead locks on when I'm in  car parks or over night.

White guys shouldn't get dread locks.

I had deadlocks fitted to my side and back doors after my previous van was stolen.

We just unlock them at the start of the day and lock them again at the end of the day. Hopefully it will deter thieves having a go a second time.

As we have a ford transit we also changed the lock on the drivers door as it is very vulnerable to being opened by thieves....you can literally buy a skeleton key online for £20. It will open any transit (not sure about ford transit customs).

My connect had them fitted by the previous owner on the side and rear doors. I don't find them a hindrance, but I do make damn sure my key chain is karrabinered on to my trouser belt loop. I could see that being an expensive mistake I'd only make once.
