I had a barbarian for 3 months. It was a nice truck but it just lacked space and height for me and also felt very sloppy. The brakes were poor and the engine was very loud in the cab. I know this is a work vehicle but I think they are over priced just as they have leather and reverse cam etc. I had a t5 transporter before and ended up loosing a large amount of money on the l200. I have now got another transporter as they feel so much more refined. This is my opinion though.

I had the barbarian model 2010 with about 10k on the clock. Height wise I mean in the back with a 500 tank it didn't leave lots of room. Trust me my transporter is loads faster  ;D it's pushing 180bhp. Mine was the tip tronic box too on the barby.

Even today a 2010 barby with that mileage is worth a good £13k its one hell of a ride same as the one I drove today with around 200bhp? I'm really surprised you chose van over that monster , looks amazing it has everything we don't need anymore space!

They are a nice truck don't get me wrong. They have the 2.5 DID engine which is 176 bhp. Maybe the manual will be better but my mates 140bhp t5 used to leave mine standing :--( hopefully you enjoy though  :)

This link I am posting below contains a fatal collision in Russia. It is a Navara and played a part in my decision to sell ours. The way this thing just disintegrates.............

It might prove upsetting for some but well worth a look if you can bear it.

It certainly highlights how quickly things can turn to poo and also just how unprotected we actually are, no matter how protected we feel.

That is pretty shocking footage, but imo, not a valid reason to get rid of your navara. 1, the footage is not particularly clear and does not focus on the pickup after the collision, but i very much doubt the cab area itself 'disintegrated'. 2, the impact was a navara, skidding sideways at maybe 40mph, hitting the front of a truck doing probably 50+ mph. That is an actual impact speed of 90mph. Do you really think you would survive an impact like that in anything?, i seriously doubt it, certainly not in a van.

Shocking footage but I agree with the last post at that speed you won't survive certainly not in a van that was a 10tone lorry that hit it dead on.

The Navara did indeed disintegrate and the driver died instantly, there were a few follow up stories..   It is true that the speed and angles involved would most likely have left the driver of any vehicle dead.  That said, the way the Nissan just exploded made me look more closely at ours. I found the body panels to be pretty thin and there's not an awful lot holding it together. The load space is completely separate and so does not add strength to the main body.

The truth is these type of vehicles don't handle that great. They're geared for weight but rarely carry the weight they're designed to. This makes them a little bouncy to say the least.  I have already said in an earlier post that we have a Vivaro, this drives more like a car and handles better than the Nissan ever did.

This wasn't the reason for selling the Navara, but it certainly played on my mind especially as we used it as the main family car.  The main reason was to replace with a more appropriate family car, simple as that. More comfort, better handling, better MPG.

There's an offer on at the minute for those still interested in Pick-Ups. Not a Navara, but a real bargain if this is what you're after: -
