Title: Best Chemical used for painted fibre cement boards
Post by: James pryer on June 08, 2021, 01:25:21 am
Hi all,
Got a job next week to clean a ladies cladding. She has fibre cement cladding that has been painted. What chemical would you recommend using?

I have used Ubix on timber frames before and have seen some of the white frame paint come off.  Don’t want this to happen on all the cladding.
I don’t have access to hot wfp.

Would lowering my Ubix ratio work? What to?
Or is screwfix degreaser better?

Thanks

You will always get some paint residue come off if the paint is decomposing or flaking

depending on what the staining or dirt is I would use hypo - spray it on leave 10 mins a rinse off at low pressure with a p/w or lightly scrub with wfp

We usually use a hypo mix ,as it will kill algi , but Virosol or similar will work ok .

Go with mild liquid cleaning dishwasher, stay away from abrasive cleaners available in the market.

7-1 should be ok for green algi
