Yes there mono and i`ve just brought that 1 off of EBAY but not that 1 i hope. There designed to go on there own poles which in reality are no different to the extender range and universal,it`s got the same thread as the vikan brushes.

Yes they will fit all of Gardiners poles as they have the standard size thread, alex also fits this thread on the end of the G-fit goosenecks and the superlite ones.

yeah. I've got vikan style threads, I've already decided I don't like Vikans!! i also have a  Brodex 25ft pro long with a goosneck and fixed Vikan, if this Ionics one is any good, I'll buy another, grind all the plastic off and screw it on the goosneck

You can also buy goosenecks now that will screw on the end of your pole,Alex or essentially pure.

trouble with that is that on my pro long Brodex, they have glued another thread over the standard thread to take the gooseneck, so I will have to get somebody to make me a conversion, If you know anybody that works with metal, especially threads, please tell me, Luke

Buy the thread i mentioned cut the top of your pole and glue the new thread in overnight there you go,your pole will now take any brush and 1 of these screw on goosenecks.

I've heard this all before.
It is true, Ionics do curl up when dry after a while, but once wet again they're fine.  I think V8Edd must have a hot water system and he's 'melting' brushes.  Mine go back to normal every time now on 2nd year.

Why are you people buying these brushes for £22 from ebay, they are cheaper from Ionics! Also ask for them to be fitted with commercial jets but remember that these are the brushes for domestic poles so don't expect too much. Saying that, mine have lasted well and they get a hammering!

Regarding "why are you buying these brushes off ebay, instead of off Ionics" and "the brush is old", well that 22 quid included postage, the postage from ionics will be at least 3 quid extra, if not more. The brush pictured is a second hand one, the seller says that the one in the picture is not the one for sale, it is the same brush but new" so there you go, I'm not having an argument about a piece of plastic with hairs on it that I paid a measly 22 quid for, I want to try other brushes, why are so many people so negative

You get a better directional flow from the commercial jets. They are not standard on these brushes so the ones you are buying will not have them.

The logo looks as if it`s been sprayed on somehow and it`s not threaded therefore it won`t go straight on a pole, saying that i got mine today and i must say it`s the best mono brush i`ve used it keeps it shape and although i only used it for 10-20mins the 1 i got from cleaning spot lost it`s shape in 5mins and never regained it unless you kept dunking it in boiling water all the time it seemed.I`m lucky as i have an adapter for it that i can stick in the thread end to get over the problem, but all in all it`s a very good brush if he starts selling them with a proper thread i`ll buy some more.

Luke and whoever else has got this brush,it`s simple but you`ll have to say goodbye to a plastic angle adapter. What you need to do is file off the ridges inside the brush so that it`s almost flush with the hole, then apply a good thick layer of superglue inside the brush and then do the same on thread of the angle adapter, give it a really good push into the brush and make sure you line up where you want it before it sets hard it`ll only take 5-10 mins before it`s ready for work.Make sure you line it up straight, your be pulling your hair out if it`s not straight most annoying.

If you right handed you might prefer the screw adjuster on the angle adapter on the right hand side,if you set it on the left it`s more awkward to adjust quickly when your working.

It`s a very good brush in my opinion and because it`s mono it hold less dirt than it`s flocked brother, with a slightly higher flow rate you shoudn`t need to rinse as much especially on regular cleans.

I have'nt managed to get anybody to answer this one yet. Alot of people say they keep their brushes in pure water between cleans, but how do they manage to pull the pipes of each time, they are really stiff?

The brush pictured will fit a screw thread gooseneck, just push hard as you screw it on.

The one in the picture does not look fake! The Ionics brush pictured is actually a fairly standard off the shelf brush but with their own logo on it.

I never understand anyone having to wash their brushes, I have been using WFP for 6 years and have never cleaned a brush! Unless of course you have picked up a lot of cobwebs or something, mostly the dirt washes off as you scrub the window.

Alex regarding that brush on ebay I have bought, the seller says that it is the same brush but not the one pictured, he says the one pictured isnt used. Now NWH has bought one from the same man, and the thread doesn fit a Geramn d type or Vikan style, so their is something fishy, he also says it seems like the ionics logo is sprayed on.

Davew at the end of the day mate 1 example, the bentley brush you can get at tesco for about £2.50-£3.00 all you have to do is use old jets a bit of tubing job done.I got the what i thought was an ionic brush because that type of brush is not available at your local tescos. If the guy on EBAY is selling those bentley brushes for say £13 after jets etc he`s still making at least 100% profit and good luck to him,all i`m saying is that if you go down your local supermarket you can get 3-4 of them brushes for that.

All these new poles, hot systems to name a couple of things that have changed the way we work yet a good brush is like looking for a needle in a haystack. The brush in my opinion is the most important thing it`s on a par with your water needing to be pure, but the brush major system suppliers are ignoring. We shouldn`t need to be hunting round trying to find better alteratives ie diy, they should be available of the shelve. One of the main reasons is the setup costs in designing a new brush,to have a new mould made up for making a new brush can cost between 5-10,000.

Just got my "ionics" brush off ebay. These are the stats

1. it does fit a vikan thread
2.it is a crinkle mono filament
3.it weighs 375 grams
4.it is dual trim, shorter, bristle like hairs in the middle with longer splaying ones around the centre

It seems like a nice brush, but I will give it a try out on my house

Hi JM123

Have you got Gazz's mk1 swivels?

Having used one of Gazz's brushes today I still think the Vikan's are better though- their weight is a problem in some ways but is a advantage in others.

Thanks

For anyone wanting to make a rectangular vikan a we bit smaller & lighter just grind or plane all the excess black plastic stock off all way round, makes them better IMO.
