VIDEO DONE ! ......Budget hot is ready !
« on: January 27, 2020, 05:53:03 pm »
First of production is ready to fit , it’s been a long road to get to the finished product but it’s been worth it .
We have even upped the game by chunking up the materials and doing it all in polished stainless for all you posh window cleaners  ;D

Will be doing another video to give a better insight into the system shortly .

I run 2 man van with electric reels
More info on “ Heater price is here “ thread
As it’s only a 5 Kw heater it will only run 1 man , unless you fit an additional small tank of say 50 or 100 litres
Easy to fit system !

Yes you can shower , and power needs are pretty minimal , your pump will need to run constantly all day as will the heater , at full power and say 2.5L per minute you would be looking at 6 Amps per hour tops , I do 6 hour days and use between 30 to 35 Amps a day
I use a 105 amp numax that gets charged every night

Univalve is usable , when you shut flow off the pressure in the system builds to about 55 psi , then a pressure relief valve activates and sends the hot water back to tank , no heat is wasted as such , over the course of the day the remaining tank water gets hotter and hotter meaning you can throttle the heater back to hover at your chosen temp

£850 plus delivery , not sure how much that is yet until I have to box one up , it might even be cheaper on a half pallet?

With enough info to me before hand I will fit them free if people want to travel to Plymouth  ;D

The stainless really looks the job.

This could be a winner for you. I do think though that the £850 plus delivery should be an introductory price. Almost seems too cheap for all the work you’ve put in.

Either way though it looks great. Can’t wait to see them in action in peoples vans.

They are ready to order now , as they are built to order it’s got to be up front payment until I can get a few built for stock , not ideal but the fabricator needs paying before he puts torch to metal  >:(

It comes as an open frame due to being a retrofit item , you can box it in once fitted up

You could leave it on low overnight yes , I just run mine for a couple of hours at about 75% heat before bed , this usually gives enough heat in the tank to act as a big radiator

Looks the business.  If i didnt have all the hiccups with the van in november n december and some other family business. I would be coming up very soon to pick one up.
Yet its gonna be towards next winter now for me, but definitely ordering one as soon as im able. Even if you amend the price for all the work thats gone into that 👍

looks very pro and efficient.  Easily affordable to rum and no messing about with extension wires nor forgetting to turn my immersion on etc.

Great video mate, it looks good!

Did you manage to test 3mm jets?

I run a ‘tubeless’ setup, no rectus 21 or the like, so that’s something I’d also need to change in order for it to flow back to tank.

What is at the end of your hose reel then ?

8mm minibore > reducer barb > 40 feet of 5.5mm gardiner green pole hose > John guest straight push fit.

Then I just have a small amount of pole hose sticking out the end of the pole, I then connect that to the John guest.

It means I can change/add sections easy, and also means after cleaning a house, I can undo the pole from the hose, meaning I can reel the whole lot in on the hose reel.

I’ll send you a vid via text tomorrow mate! Just so it makes sense.

But ultimately, I don’t use any flow control device/rectus 21, as I have the one shot. So id need to change that and add something in so it cycles back to the tank!

Very impressive.

I use to run a twin inlet and outlet on a stainless calorifier from radiator so it recycled through twice (same principal as yours). Use to recycle excess water through WFP tank when pole hose shut off like yourself so pump continuously  circulating water until shut off on flow controller.
Used a longer length of brass hose after the pressure release valve as advised for safety reasons and used a metal 10litre diesel tank instead of a plastic tank as they  are less likely to lose vapour gases or expand in the summer months if in direct sunlight, less chance of tank exploding.
Use to get temperatures above 100 degrees so use to turn it off by midday tops.

Well done

Ok great, can the system turn itself off automatically after 2 hours?

ideally we need a system that can be set on defrost setting, is this an option with this system?

Our employees take the vans home, so need to set it and leave overnight

They don’t come with a frost stat setup like a Grippa or the like , but they do have a timer you can set to come on and off overnight , however in order to use this the water pump would have to be left on all night as the heater cannot turn the water pump on by itself !
This is why I just do it manually  2 hours before bed as and when I see a cold snap coming , again this is dependant if you can rely on the workers remembering to turn them off !

Hi P&F

Well done for persevering with this project.
I have a few ?s

I run as a single operator .
I run a pump on full bore ( no varistream )
I use between 500 and 700ltrs a day.
What sort of temperatures would I expect at the brush head with your system?

At a guess I would say in the region of 35-45 degrees if you recirculate back to tank you will think you are getting very hot water but it’s only because the water in the reel is very hot, after about a few minutes it’ll cool back down.
If I do this with my diesel heater it get proper hot to hot to use tbh this time of the year.

Well the first system got fitted today for John of See Throo Southampton , went very well , no pics yet as John wants to do a few little bits first !
Cracking bloke as when we were packing up he told me he had a few bits I might want to make use of as I fitted free ...
Only went and gave me a box of carbon filters and an Xtreme 25 with loads of life left in it  :o :o  :o
Cheers John you diamond ;D
