I am a bit simple I know. What does 'self modded' mean and why?

Thanks.

The idea for the attachment to the pole looks simple and quite a good idea.
Just chant..... Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare, Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare. It's beats chanting Tory Tory or Labour Labour.

Know it seems simple idea but it allows you to use you pole.
And have a light grip on it.  (pole)
It just a proto type bit rough .
But it works.
Most people would be able to make there as well.
But don't knock it till you try it. :)

You're not joking are you?
I thought you were having a little laugh at yourself after the squeegee handle stuff.
Come on, put me out of my misery - just tell me it's all a wind-up :)

For someone suffering from trigger finger or any RSI I reckon it might be useful. I have a slight trigger finger on my left ring finger. Not severe enough to want to do anything about it, but if it was, I reckon I'd find the idea really useful.

Exactly for people like your self.
People that suffer from arthritis be able to use hand tool as well with the hand grip for the squeegee.

Well, well, well.  I try many of the apparently mad ideas on here on the basis that anything might work.  Some are hopeless but this one works.

Made something similar to this and used it for the first time today.  Definitely reduced the amount I needed to grip the pole.  If I had to estimate, I'd say it halved the grip force required.  Thumb and fingers all much less tired than usual (I suffer from trigger finger).  Took a few hours to get used to it but really made a difference.  It'll be going onto the franchisees' kit as soon as I can get something that looks the part - mine's rather bodged.

H Man, thanks.  Great idea.

Alex - you should consider something like this.

Glade it worked out for you.
Yes the one in the video was a quick basic one made up just to show how it works.
Needs the edges smooth etc.
But not only give you a less grip on the pole.
It allows your whole motion at the wrist to move more freely.
Having the lesser grip and free movement means there is less stress on arms and shoulders as well. :)

Be interested in a better way to make these.  Mine's part of the top of a bottle.  I've had a good look around online for anything that might do the job but I've not come up with anything.

Made this one bit better finished :D
Once you have the size shape.
You then heat it push on pole where you want it to be cools off will not move.
However if you need to move it for some reason reheat then move it.
There would also be other ways to make and put this on the pole as well.
but this is the way we are doing at the moment.
If anyone got a better way of doing or putting this attachment on the pole please let us know :)

Cut it down the side (from top to bottom) so you can open it and put it straight to where you want it on the pole

Fit a small screw thread at top on the outside, so you can then tighten it so it doesnt move on the pole?(almost like a jubilee clip)

Yes have a trad pole that use all the time.
Had cramping problems also.
So what we did was glue marine carpet onto the bottom of the pole.
It not only make it easier to grip and use.
It like an insulation on the pole great in the winter.
This is how we put it on the pole.
